What does a local supply chain mean in procurement?
A local supply chain describes a procurement approach where suppliers are located as close as possible to the respective production or consumption site. The goal is to optimize transport routes, reduce CO₂ emissions, and at the same time strengthen transparency and security of supply within the supply chain.
