Compounds in Contact with Drinking Water

KTW and W270

AKRO PLASTIC Compounds Approved for Contact with Drinking Water

AKRO-PLASTIC, a compounder situated in Niederzissen, Rhineland-Palatinate, is now offering more products from its portfolio that are listed according to KTW (cold and hot water) and to DVGW worksheet W270.

AKROMID® T5 is a polyphthalamide (PPA) with a glass transition temperature of approx. 130 °C and can be used for moulded parts which are exposed to higher temperatures. With PPA compounds, the impact of moisture absorption is very low, which makes them highly suitable for mechanically stressed parts in drinking water and food applications.

AKROTEK® PK-VM is an aliphatic polyketone with a low molecular weight and therefore very good flowability. It has a very high chemical and hydrolysis resistance. It also allows for short cycle times, mainly in components with thick walls.

The test reports comprise all product variations between AKROMID® T5 non-reinforced to 50 % glass fibre reinforced in natural and in black, as well as AKROTEK® PK-VM 8 non-reinforced to 50 % glass fibre reinforced, also in natural and black.

All products are FDA-compliant and meet the requirements of EU Directive 10/2011. More listings (ACS, WRAS, NSF61) are in the pipeline.
