Accumulated plastics expertise within a strong corporate group is the heading under which AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH, a specialist in innovative and application-oriented plastic compounds, will take part in the 21st Fakuma trade fair in Friedrichshafen, Germany, together with its subsidiary AF-COLOR and K.D. Feddersen GmbH & Co. KG, a distributor of engineering plastics.
The Feddersen Group has dramatically expanded its expertise in plastics over the last 60 years. In addition to Hamburg-based K.D. Feddersen GmbH & Co. KG, a distributor of engineering plastics, the group now also features its own specialist in innovative, application-oriented plastic compounds, AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH. Working together with AKRO-PLASTIC subsidiary AF-COLOR, an authority in the manufacture of high-quality engineering masterbatches, the company group is now able to offer first-rate, all-inclusive services in plastics and compounds to its customers not only in Germany but also via its branches in numerous other European countries and even in China, Southeast Asia and Latin America.
This year, the two companies are not focussing solely on own-brand products in the AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH portfolio. AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH is also presenting a variety of items that complement its own product lines.
K.D. Feddersen’s slogan is Think Value. This slogan underlines the Hamburg-based distributor’s focus on a customer-oriented and project-related work method. Continuous further product development combined with extended fields of application for engineering plastics have allowed the partnerships formed between K.D. Feddersen and renowned, globally active polymer manufacturers such as LyondellBasell Industries and Ticona GmbH to grow successfully on both a national and international level over several decades. These partnerships cultivate a wide range of technically highly innovative application segments.
In addition to expanding the product ranges distributed by K.D. Feddersen, Feddersen group companies are now placing particular emphasis on service provision know-how. Thus, in contrast to traditional trading companies, K.D. Feddersen has its own application development capability that provides support for customers in selecting the right material and creates effective, practicable product development solutions. Thanks to requirements, distribution and production planning that focuses on the customer’s needs, tailor-made distribution concepts can be created for each customer – even for small quantities.
AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH truly lives up to its slogan Think Polyamide. Based in Niederzissen in Germany’s Rhineland-Palatinate region, this plastics compounder defines itself as an integrated service partner. In its ultra-modern production plants, formulas are developed to meet customer requirements and are then converted into marketable standard products or special application-related products.
From small orders to full service packages, toll compounding ensures high-quality production that is both flexible and efficient. As one of just a few medium-sized companies producing plastics and compounds, AKRO-PLASTIC is able to offer certified material testing. The test methods used have been certified by the German Accreditation Council in accordance with DIN EN ISO 17025.
AF-COLOR’s motto is Think Masterbatch. This masterbatch specialist is presenting its new range of colour masterbatches and additive concentrates based on biodegradable polymers to specialists for the first time at Fakuma.
